Liccione's Military Series were painted during a few months between the years of 2002-2003. These paintings are based on actual black and white photographs taken during the Aleutian Campaign of World War II.
Liccione plans to add to this series of paintings with paintings depicting all aspects of military life. Surviving veterans from World War II have sent him an abundance of photographic materials. This will offer the world another means of preserving images and stories for future generations. Commissioning a portrait.
